Leadership in the Church
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13; Acts 20:28
Follow church leaders as they work to instruct and watch over you
Intro: Leaders in the church are servants of servants, Mark 10:42-45.
1) Respect those who labor, lead and instruct in the church, 1 Thessalonians 5:12.
1 Thessalonians 5:12. We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
2) Regard church leaders in love because of their work and be at peace, 1 Thessalonians 5:13.
1 Thessalonians 5:13. and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
3) Church leaders are Spirit-appointed to shepherd God’s church, Acts 20:28.
Acts 20:28. Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
Hebrews 3:7. Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
