It is hard to find an instance with Jesus in scripture where he doesn’t end up asking some sort of question. The questions he asked were often jarring; however, they weren’t intended to mess with the listener but instead to draw them towards life in him. While these questions were asked in specific situations and to specific people, because scripture is alive and active we are to hear Jesus asking us these same questions as he draws us towards life in him.
